July of 2009 the First Presbyterian Church of Hollister (FPCH) established a mission study team to develop this Mission Study Report which sets forth a new mission and vision for our congregation. The report's objective is twofold: to provide information necessary for the search of a new Senior Pastor; and to give new direction and focus to our ministry and mission. 

This Mission Study is influenced by a ministry evaluation and review that was begun in the fall of 2007.  Our Senior Pastor at the time, David Rodriguez, was deployed to Iraq as a Navy chaplain.  At the request of Rev. Rodriguez, the Associate Pastors and lay leader team led a review of our ministry and began a vision/planning process for the Senior Pastor's return.  Rev. Rodriguez had a difficult transition when he returned from Iraq, which compelled him to accept a call to another church.  The Mission Study Team was reconstituted in July 2009 under our interim pastor, Dr. Stephen Brewer, to fulfill the Committee on Ministries requirement of reevaluating the church's mission in preparation of calling a new installed pastor.
